#1:to blog or not to blog

A few years ago I started a blog ‘styleturbine’ - had my own domain and everything. I worked quite hard *not too hard, to get it going but found it was just another thing gluing me to a camera, a device and frantically working to get the following etc etc. Now, I find myself in London and I’m freelancing and often I think about my style blog and think, darn - should have kept that one going.

I like to live. Not blog about living. Because you see, if you blog about living you might forget that the actual experience is more important than the one you capture on camera. My life is not a visually perfect paradise. I juggle a bit of an Airbnb business and work as a freelance photographer. My interests lie within fashion, travel and design - interiors took over the love of clothes for a while - but now living in London I’m surrounded by fashion & beautifully presented gourmet food - and I’m thinking this blog cold be a place to put it all.

So, yes - welcome to my first blog post. Some days I’m more chatty than others. I’m usually about the image and perhaps a tiny blurb, you get the idea, I’m not a journalist or a writer. I’m Norwegian too, so English is my second language, feel free to correct me when I spell something wrong! My social media is 85% Instagram, 10% Facebook, 3% Twitter, 2%Pinterest. Therefore, only worry about my Instagram. You can find me on the following accounts (I know - I’m sad)

1) @styleturbine (the slightly alter-ego material girl)

2) @inafotograf (my photography work, my kids, my friends, my family)

3) @ridgecottage (my home, my interior design, my Airbnb business)

Anyway. I’m not thinking that a blog will make me rich or famous. But I am aware that as you get, ahem, older - it can be tricky to stay in the game when it comes to what you wear, or you forget to have fun with clothes and colours (I’m guilty of that as my wardrobe is black, white & grey!) - or you are wondering if you can still get away with a certain style because you’re past your twenties - my ethos is always ‘style with balance’. If you follow or read this blog you’ll find out what that means.

For now, thanks for reading and see you again soon! xx Ina
